Scripture: Numbers 13:1-3; 17-20, 23-33
Sermon Title: Sit Your “But” Down!

Pastor Derrick Wright delivered a signature message on Sunday. He reminded us that our “Buts” are always met with opportunities. When God gives us an assignment we need to get to it and leave the “buts” alone.
​
Pastor D served up not three points, but four. Those points were:
1. It is an Assessment
2. Do Your Assignment
3. Accept the Results
4. Don't Complain
​

MORIAH PROJECT RAISES FUNDS FOR TLC: Senior Pastor Tyrone Gordon presented a challenge to TLC Fellowship at the Worship Service on June 9 -- what he deemed as the Moriah Project. This "ask" to our members and visitors was to pledge $500, $300, $200, or $100 above normal giving. Eight individuals pledged, exceeding Pastor Gordon's expectation, but we are only 51% to our goal of $13,500. The funds collected July 7 will enable TLC to meet its financial obligations through September.

BIBLE STUDY RETURNS: Bible study is back Monday, July 8 at 7 p.m. There are only two more lessons in this series on grace. For more information contact Minister Sherry Flewellen-Ervin at sherrydfe@gmail.com.

WOMEN'S RETREAT SET FOR AUG. 16-18: The Women of Purpose will host their annual retreat on August 16-18. This year's theme will be "Order My Steps: Living out God's Purpose for your Life through Faith, Focus and God's Favor." The cost of the retreat is $125, which covers lodging, meals and retreat materials. More details to come.

FOCUSING ON FINANCIAL SUPPORT IN JULY: This month, we'll focus on how we can better support our TLC Fellowship church and family with several fundraiser events. On July 27, TLC will host a benefit concert, featuring talented singers and musicians. Stay tuned for details.

Sermon Title: "The Power of the Body”

Once again Pastor Derrick Wright brought the Word. It offered a better understanding of how important Communion is and how it should be taken in reverence.
Pastor D served up four points:
1. The Physical Body
2. The Resurrected Body
3. The Memorial Body
4. The Mystical Body
​
Finally, he reminded us that the church is supposed to be a thermostat and not a thermometer: “We should do more than measure the temperature, we need to set it.”

MORIAH PLEDGES DUE: Senior Pastor Tyrone Gordon would like to thank everyone who made their Moriah pledges and to those who are still planning to give. In June, Pastor G set a fundraising goal of $13,500 and asked the TLC family to make Moriah Pledges to meet the goal. Some of the donations were collected last Sunday, but many of the pledges have yet to be submitted. The funds collected will enable TLC to meet its financial obligations through September.

The Word is being taught at TLC! Minister Deborah Valrie has a way of taking the scriptures to a level of understanding that makes you want to learn more. This past Sunday, she graced us with how God is the authority. (Watch the video.)
Her three points were:
1. Accept that GOD is THE AUTHORITY
2. Regarding His Authority: the END does not justify the MEANS
3. Trusting God assures a better OUTCOME.

Sermon Title: “When Jesus Shows Up”
Scripture: Matthew 1:18-23 (NIV)
This past Sunday Minister Sherry Flewellen-Ervin showed up and showed out. She shared the story of Mary and Joseph and how his thoughts were to divorce Mary quietly. But God stepped in and changed Joseph’s mind. Joseph must have been a humble man for he followed God’s plan. When we humble ourselves God shows up and shows out.
As she continued to teach and preach she dropped breadcrumbs, offering things we can do to show our humbleness. Things like treating your temple well, and acting like God has done something for you. The question that made everyone go “hmmm” was “HOW MANY CHANCES DOES HE HAVE TO GIVE YOU OR SHOW YOU FOR YOU TO SEEK HIM AND REMAIN HUMBLE?”
Her three points were:
1. Our sins are forgiven.
2. We are born again.
3. We get another chance.
