Sermon Title: “It’s Coming!”
​
Pastor Madoral Thomas of Living Hope Worship Center definitely had a message this past Sunday. “It’s Coming” was the title of his sermon and he came with it, reminding us that “without faith, you can’t please God”. Also, God does not give us the spirit of fear. Finally, Pastor Thomas reiterated what we already knew but needed reminding – FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD.

SUMMER CONCERT SLATED FOR SUNDAY, AUGUST 25: Our TLC Fellowship Summer Concert will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 25, in the main sanctuary. Join us for a time of worship and musical celebration. All proceeds will enable TLC to continue its mission and service to our church body.

WOMEN'S RETREAT SET FOR AUG. 16-18: The Women of Purpose will host their annual retreat on August 16-18. This year's theme will be "Order My Steps: Living out God's Purpose for your Life through Faith, Focus and God's Favor." The cost of the retreat is $125, which covers lodging, meals and retreat materials. More details to come.

TLC FLIGHT SCHOOL: Don’t forget to join Pastor Wright, and your TLC family for Flight School! The study begins at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday. The only book you will need is your Bible!

Sermon Title: “Who Do You Trust?”
Scripture: Psalms 91
Pastor Horace Thompson, son of TLC, was welcomed home with open arms. He reminded us of two things: GOD IS FAITHFUL & GOD LISTENS. Preaching from Psalms 91 (NRV), Pastor Horace asked us earnestly – “WHO DO YOU TRUST?” He said that when you are full of fear you aren’t trusting God’s faithfulness.
Pastor Horace was open and real. “No matter who you are,” he said, "you will be tested. God allows your breakdown so He can build you up. It’s time to put your trust in God. He has proven himself – first, He gave His only begotten son, and secondly, He is always faithful.”

Pastor Derrick Wright brought the word in his true fashion – TRUTHFULLY! This past Sunday we were reminded that vision is important. Proverbs says that without vision the people will perish.

The five points shared were:

Focus on the big picture;

Practice paying the price;

Meditate on God’s presence;

Evaluate or stagnate;
-
Your passion determines your priorities.

WOMEN'S RETREAT ENCOURAGES: The WOP Annual Women's Retreat was a success. Kimberly Ganthe and Kimley Hathaway were in their element. The event was spiritually uplifting and enlightening.

Sermon Title: When the Bottom Falls Out!
Scripture: Psalms 130
Pastor Gordon delivered a timely sermon that we could all relate to: What to do when the BOTTOM FALLS OUT… He began his sermon by asking if anyone had ever had the bottom fall out in their lives. If so, we realize the situation may seem hopeless. You may begin to believe your situation is bigger than God. He said you have to make the choice whether or not you are going to be defeated or fight your way through. (Watch the sermon on the TLC Facebook page.)
The three points to reflect on are:
1. Look up!
2. Don’t let the realities of the past – the possibilities of the future!
3. HELP is on the WAY!
