Sermon Title: How to Handle Temptation

“Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.”
Pastor Tyrone Gordon did as he always does – SHARED A WORD FROM THE LORD!! The message was powerful. Pastor G said: "Temptations are the devil’s tool to derail, distract and destroy!" Then he gave us three ways on:
How to handle temptations:
1. Think beyond ourselves
2. God tests – the devil tempts
3. There are no short-cuts

Sermon Title: When the Church Goes Beast Mode
Scripture: Acts 9:31
So much can be said about this past Sunday’s sermon. First, it was our anniversary. Happy 8th Anniversary TLC! Second, the word was wonderful! The delivery unparalleled. Pastor Crenshaw has visited TLC on several occasions. He always has a word from the Lord and he is always on point. That did not change with his delivery this past Sunday.
When the church goes beast mode!!! Pastor Crenshaw says that happens when performance exhibits extreme power, skill and determination and inspires others to be better.
“You can’t spread the gospel of Jesus under your own power. We need a gospel-quake." He said he had three points, but these are the points that are really the take away:
1. You have to have the Peace of Jesus Christ
2. God has the ability to convert/move the one who is causing the trouble
3. You need to have the fear of God – Worship the Lord in Spirit and in Truth
4. You must fear God – see it in your worship – you are in awe of God
5. Have to have the encouragement of the Holy Spirit
There was no online video of this sermon, but we ware working on making a DVD available for those who want to revisited Pastor Crenshaw's powerful message. Sermon Title: The Mission of TLC, Part 1: Where is the Passion?
Scripture: Matthew 28:16–28

Transforming Life Christian Fellowship is eight years old! And, the struggle has been real. Still, we are moving forward.
​
This past Sunday Pastor G delivered one of his signature sermons. “Where is the Passion?” What a question. Are you ready for the answer? Well, let’s look at the TLC MISSION Statement:
​
“To present the gospel passionately, love people unconditionally, and develop disciples who live transformationally in the world.”
​
Passionately! How do we do this? Well, Pastor says we must:
​
1. Be a “go” to church not a “come” to church!
2. Keep the main thing the main thing!
3. We can’t do this by ourselves!
​
Be a “go” to church not a “come” to church! “Jesus NEVER expected people to come to him – he always went to them”. He further reminded us that we must step outside of our comfort zone and share Jesus at work, school, the grocery store ... wherever you go, take your passion for Christ with you. Seems like he has said on more than one occasion that people ought to be able to tell who you belong to by the fruit you bear.
​
The biggest point to me was when he said “WE CAN’T DO THIS BY OURSELVES.” Christ wants us to be the fishermen using a fishing net not a single fishing pole. With a net you catch a lot of different types of fish. With a pole you may only catch a certain kind of fish – one at a time.
​
Finally, if we follow God’s guidance because: HE GIVES THE CHARGE; HE SETS THE AGENDA; & HE CRAFTS THE MISSION! So, let’s keep our eyes and minds on the main thang and keep it the main thang: GROWING GOD’S KINGDOM as we remember what Pastor said: God is with us!
​

Sermon Title: We Will Survive This!
Scripture: Isaiah 43:2-3
2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
3 For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior…
Family & Friends, this was an epic event. While we have been streaming sermons live for a while now, this is the first time we did it without members physically present. Yet, Pastor G preached with a fervor that belied the obvious. He preached like he had a full house, and looking at the number of views, I guess he did.
​
“We will survive this!” was the sermon topic and spoke so eloquently on today’s issues that we are facing. I’ll get to the take away points in a bit, but right now I want to share some of the words Pastor shared:
God intervenes. He asked us how many times has God intervened on our behalf. He reminded us that we have to KEEP THE FAITH because times like these will STEAL YOUR JOY; UNDERMINE YOUR FAITH; AND STEAL THE SONG IN YOUR HEART! God has prepared us to handle the present as we look toward the future. Then he said: “No matter what happens, do not be afraid. If He brought us to it He will bring us through it!”
​
Finally, Pastor said we expect a pass because we go to church and pay our tithes. But remember, we are under siege. We are under attack. And, God promises survival in IT, not exemption from IT!
​
The three takeaway points were:
1. The Lord prepared us for this!
2. The Lord will keep us in this!
3. The Lord will bring us OUT of this!
​
