The Preached Word – Pastor Tyrone Gordon

Sermon Scripture: Acts 3:1-10
Sermon Title: Living with A Lame Excuse

If you missed this sermon, you missed a blessing. If you were there, then you were surely blessed. This past week, our Senior Pastor delivered a wonderful message that was encouraging and a bit admonishing – but not in a bad way.  He quoted Dr. J. L. Foster,  “Excuses are nothing but crutches for failure!” then he shared three points to ponder:

1. Never stay in places where you don’t belong!
2. Don’t focus on your disabilities but your abilities!
3. Just get up and get your praise

As usual the message was powerful, timely and on point! Please visit the TLC Facebook page to view past sermons. You can also join us each Sunday at 10 a.m.

The Preached Word – Pastor Tyrone Gordon

Scripture: John 11:21, 38-44
Sermon Title: It’s Never Too Late For Your Miracle

Sunday’s sermon was inspiring. Pastor shared with us how it is never too late for a miracle in our lives. In his message, he told the story of Mary, Martha and Lazarus – how Martha was upset because Jesus came after Lazarus had been dead four days. This was, by their belief, too long to lay dead in a grave.  But Jesus being Jesus said simply, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” He told them to remove the stone and to loosen Lazarus from the burial garments. This was a miracle – after four days of lying in a tomb, Lazarus was risen from the dead.

You know the story. How often do we think it is too late for us? Too many issues; too much regret; too much time gone by…

The three take away reflections tells us:
1. Never let delays derail your faith!
2. Trust God’s timing!
3. Expect your miracle!

It’s Never Too Late for Your Miracle! Join us this Sunday, March 17, 2019, as we celebrate our 7th Anniversary and hear another timely, and inspiring, message.

The Preached Word – Pastor Mickey Gerald of First Trinity Baptist Church

Scripture: Joshua 6: 15-16
Sermon Title: “At Church, But Not In Church”

Pastor Gerald owned the pulpit on Sunday. It was as if he was a regular attendee to TLC. His word on “Parking Lot Christians” was thought-provoking. He said some folk go to church to see what’s going on; some go as spectators; some are imitators; and, some go to glorify God. How we treat, and greet, others are some things of which we should be very much aware.

This month our theme is “7 Years: A Church Still Marching Not Retreating." When Pastor Gerald delivered his sermon you would have thought he already knew that theme. He didn’t, but he did.

We are still marching, not retreating! Join us each Sunday at 10 a.m. and hear another timely, and inspiring, message.

The Preached Word - Minister Sherry Flewellen-Ervin

Scripture: Mark 4:35-41
Sermon Title: “What Are Your Storms Trying to Teach You?”

This past Sunday, Minister Sherry Flewellen-Ervin calmly informed us about the perfect storm in our lives. The scripture of reference was Mark 4:35-41 and the title of her sermon was “What Are Your Storms Trying to Teach You?” The message resonated strongly with those in attendance.

Jesus asked the disciples “do you still have no faith?” Minister Sherry says he asked this because the disciples had already witnessed so many miracles even before the storm. The points were:

1. Storms teach us to pray
2. Storms strengthen our faith
3. Storms teach us we can’t do anything without God
4. Storms teach us how to surrender

Once again, if you missed the word on Sunday, you missed a great lesson.  Please join us each Sunday at 10 a.m.
