The Preached Word – Pastor Derrick Wright

Scripture: Isaiah 27:1-6
Sermon Title: “It’s Time to Blossom”

Pastor Derrick Wright needs no introduction. If you have heard him share God’s word, then you already know he does it with flare, humor, and a teaching style that you won’t soon forget. He talked about the three seasons in our life: Being good (season 1 as a child); Looking good (season 2 as a young adult); and, Feeling good (season 3 as an adult). After breaking down the meaning of each season Pastor Derrick he asked the question: “What season are you in?”

THE LESSON: 1. Seed – the word of God which is in you; 2. Roots – which manifest with care; 3. Bud – comes from good seeds with deep roots; 4. Blossom – you grow and blossom (God has you); and 5. Fruit – develops from the planting and caring of the seed.

The takeaway points were:
1. Do the best you can where you are
2. Remember life’s lessons because God does not waste experiences
3. God will take care of your future.
Enough said!

We are still marching, not retreating! Join us each Sunday at 10 a.m. and hear another timely, and inspiring, message. Peace & Blessings…

The Preached Word – Pastor Tyrone Gordon

Scripture: Luke 17:11-19
Sermon Title: “I Am THAT One”

Sunday was a day of teaching, learning and sharing. Pastor G reminded us of how we so often forget to give thanks unto God for how he blesses us. The story of the 10 brothers with leprosy who were healed by Jesus. He told them to go show themselves to priest. As they left to go to the priest, one of them turned around and went back to thank him.

We become THAT one because of:
1. Our encounter with Jesus
2. Our acceptance of Jesus
3. The goodness of Jesus

Once again, Pastor G delivered a great word from God! We are still marching, not retreating! Join us each Sunday at 10 a.m. and hear another timely, and inspiring, message.

The Preached Word – Pastor Tyrone Gordon

Scripture: Luke 17:11-19
Sermon Title: “I Can’t Help Myself”

To hear a story from the Bible that you have heard before is nothing unusual.  But, to hear the story told from a different perspective can be enlightening and thought-provoking.

Pastor Gordon delivered more of Luke’s Journey Narratives this past Sunday.  The story didn’t change, but the delivery added to it. The people were so thankful to Christ for all he had done that they laid their cloaks on the ground for the donkey he was riding on to tread. Their voices of thanks giving were so loud that Christ was told to keep them quiet.

Check this out: “Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, order your disciples to stop.” He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the stones would shout out.”  Luke 19:39-40.  His response was simple and thought provoking.

Take-away points:
1. We have a story to tell!
2. There are some things that need to be said!
3. If we won’t – someone will!

An amazing word, as always. We are still marching, not retreating! Join us this Sunday at 10 a.m. as we celebrate our Risen Savior during a special Easter worship celebration.

The Preached Word – Pastor Tyrone Gordon

Sermon Title: “God Will Still Move Your Stones”
Scripture: Mark 16:1-8

This past Sunday we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus. Pastor Gordon continued the story that he began on Maundy Thursday. When the question was asked “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?” Mark 16:3, there was no need for worry because God had already taken care of it. Even before the knew the stone had been removed from the opening of the tomb the women forged ahead. Pastor G said:  “Don’t Just Sit There, Do Something!” and they did.

The three takeaway points:
1. Don’t let stones keep you from moving one!
2. Don’t let stones barricade you in!
3. Don’t let stones make you forget the God factor!

Finally, this wasn’t the end of the sermon, but it was one of those ‘enough said moments’ – “If we take one step to move on – God will join us and help us take two!"

Please join us next Sunday at 10 a.m. and hear another timely, and inspiring, message.
