The Good News of the Gospel
God loves us so much that He gave His Son Jesus to die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. If we turn away from our sins and believe and follow Jesus we will enjoy fellowship with God forever in Heaven. If we refuse this great gift of salvation, we will spend eternity separated from God in Hell. God does not want us to be separated from Him. Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. (Matt. 11:28) In James 4:8 it says "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." Also in Proverbs 18:24 it tells us that He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.
How to Be Saved
1. Agree with God that you are a sinner. Turn away from your sinful life and turn towards God.
- All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)
- Repent and turn to God (Acts 26:20)
- If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
2. Accept the free gift of salvation ... Jesus dying on the cross in your place to pay the penalty for your sin.
- The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
- God Demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
- Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners (1 Timothy 1:15)
3. In faith, believe in and follow Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
- If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. (Romans 10:9)
- If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. (Luke 9:23)
Pray in your own words this sinner's prayer...
Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I need Your forgiveness. I was made for You, but I've been living for me. I want to begin a relationship with You now. I believe that You died in my place on the cross, to pay the penalty for my sin, and rose again for my salvation. Wash my sins away and cleanse my heart, make it as white as snow. I want to turn from my sins, now and forever. Lord, I invite You to come into my heart and life as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus' name.
If you honestly prayed this prayer and you believe it in your heart, you are saved and your sins have been forgiven.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him
should not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
