History of Transforming Life Christian Fellowship, Inc.

Transforming Life Christian Fellowship, Inc. (TLC Fellowship) was founded on Friday, March 2, 2012, with 24 charter members by Pastor Tyrone D. Gordon (Pastor G). The organizational meeting for the ministry was held in the home of Pastor Tyrone and Marsha Gordon in Desoto, TX.

To assist and support Pastor G in organizing TLC Fellowship, Pastors Henry Wilkins (St. James UMC-Pine Bluff, Arkansas), Juan Tolliver (St. Paul AME Church-Dallas, TX), Sinclair Royal (Jordan Baptist Church-Lancaster, TX) and Perry Crenshaw (Church On The Move-Grand Prairie, TX) were present. Pastor Hank Wilkins presented the inspiring, organizational charge for the ministry. Pastor Gordon remains grateful to these friends/pastors who were integral in the founding of this new ministry and in their continued support and prayers for its success.

The inaugural worship celebration for TLC Fellowship was held on Sunday, March 4, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at the Radisson Hotel-Dallas Central located at 6070 North Central Expressway. There were over 200 persons in attendance at the first worship celebration and 42 persons united with TLC Fellowship on that first Sunday. Pastor G, who has always been a firm supporter of females in ministry, was joined at the first worship celebration by retired clergy friends--Rev. Dr. Alfredia Wiggins (Baltimore, MD) and Rev. Dr. Lydia Waters (Trophy Club, TX). The TLC Fellowship family was also joined by several other pastors mentored by Pastor G throughout his 25-plus years of ministry, along with numerous friends from former churches who traveled to Dallas to celebrate this momentous occasion.

In addition to Pastor G serving as Founding and Senior Pastor, TLC Fellowship’s pastoral staff consisted of the following persons: Pastor Cottrell King (Assistant Pastor), Pastor Kimberley Morgan-Thompson (Pastor of Worship), Pastor Horace Thompson (Pastor of Discipleship), and Pastor Howard Martin (Pastor of Evangelism). Shortly thereafter, Pastor Chandra Hill (Pastor of Congregational Life and Women’s Ministries) joined the TLC Fellowship pastoral staff. B. Octavius Fair was appointed as the Director of Music.

We continue to be excited about what God is doing for and through TLC Fellowship!
